Product Review-Gryphon Studio Grinder

Do you love working with thicker glass or pushing your grinder to the limit to get just the right design?

If so, then you will probably appreciate the features on the Gryphon Studio Grinder.  It’s made for the more advanced glass crafter and provides the tools you need to get the big jobs done.

Most important of course is its powerful DC motor – an amazing 3000 rpm and ½ horsepower motor will give you the power you need to tackle big jobs.  The grinder comes with a 1 inch 140 grit cylindrical diamond bit, which tells you that it expects to take on the big jobs right out of the box.

It also comes with two grinding heads that can be simultaneously mounter.  One really interesting feature is that the Studio Grinder can even keep both bits lubricated by a uniquely designed cooling tower and sponge.

The cooling tower is the heart of this powerful Glass Grinder.  It stores clean water and uses gravity to automatically send the correct amount of fluid to the sponge.  This means that your glass stays clean and your diamond bits are always fully lubricated for best effect.

You have two work surfaces.  The main work surface is 9.75 inches by 9 inches, and is only about 6.5 inches high from the base.  To make it even easier to work with large pieces of glass, the cooling tower and face plate are both movable. 

The 2nd story work surface will also come in handy for your finer work, and since the overall footprint of the grinder is about 10 x 10.5 inches, you still have a compact grinder that gives you lots of great power and flexibility.
