Product Review – Inland Aero Grinder
Wouldn’t it be nice to keep your hands free to handle delicate glass rather than a machine?
Well, a company called Inland says that it builds “what we’d like to own”. So… off they went and built a glass grinder that will automatically start as you lay your glass on the work surface. Is that cool or what?
The Inland Aero Grinder offers a fairly big work surface as well – 9 x 10 inches. But, even there they added a nice touch of ingenuity. You can actually turn the work surface over! This basically doubles the life span of your work surface.
Although the machine comes with ¾ inch standard grit bit, you can also use any one of the over 30 Inland custom bits, as well as a huge selection of other Inland grinder accessories. This comes in handy when you start getting into finer work, or just are ready to take your craft to the next level. Definitely nice features to have for your stained glass grinders.
The Inland bits range in size from ¼ inch to 1 inch, and grit size will vary from 60/80 (for super speed) all the way up to 270/325 for a super fine grit.
In addition to using your grinder to grind glass, you can also use it to grind ceramic tile, plastic or stone. The 115 volt model will give you as much as 3500 rpm, and a maximum torque of 16 oz per square inch. However, Inland also offers the Aero in a 230/240 volt model, so you’ll be able to safely use this machine outside of North America as well.
